(The Grand Mosque is open to visitors between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. every day except Friday and public holidays. When visiting the Grand Mosque men should wear trousers, not shorts. Women should wear ankle-length, longs-sleeved clothes with no vents or slits. Women should cover their heads and clothes should loose-fitting and not transparent).
Visit the Beit Al Zubair museum and the famous Mattrah Souq - one of the oldest markets in Oman - where you will have free time to buy souvenirs and gifts. The market is located at the ancient sea-front promenade Corniche, on a bay which ships visited from every part of the world and where two Portuguese forts, Jalali and Mirani, have stood watch for centuries. Then, take advantage of a photo opportunity near the Al Alam Palace, Sultan Qaboos Bin Said working residence.
