Jeep-tour to Jabel Akhdar

A full-day 4WD-tour to the unique region of Jabel Al Akhdar, which means Green Mountains. This is a place where locals come to "get cool" - even during the summer months the temperature does not rise above 25⁰c, and during winter nights snow even falls on the mountain tops.

 In the morning leave for the tour. The first stop will be the oasis village of Birkat Al Mawz with its ancient ruins, falaj system (traditional irrigation channels) and the Beit Al Radidah fort. Then, follow the mountain road to the top of Jabel Akhdar to the picturesque Diana view point and many mountain settlements where the ancient way of life has remained unchanged to this day. Here, locals grow vegetables, fruit-trees and pink bushes (for manufacture of  pink water). Next, visit Wadi Bani Habib and Al Ayn village. You can walk through a small gorge or visit the ancient stone huts and the tiny village Al Azura hidden among the mountains. Finally, return to Muscat
