3 Days / 2 Nights
Day 1
Day 1
Muscat – Amouage – Jebel Akhdar (“The Green Mountains”)
In the morning, set off for Nizwa, the ancient capital of the Sultanate.
En route, stop at the world-renowned Amouage perfume factory, creators of some of the most luxurious and expensive fragrances in the world. Established by His Highness Sayyid Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi under the patronage of Sultan Qaboos, the factory was conceived to craft uniquely Omani perfumes, gifted only to the most esteemed guests.
Amouage blends rare ingredients found exclusively in Oman — from frankincense harvested in Dhofar in the south to the Damask roses blooming high in the Jebel Akhdar mountains.
After approximately 1.5 hours, arrive in Nizwa. Visit the majestic Nizwa Fort, known for its massive circular tower, and explore the traditional souq, a vibrant marketplace steeped in history.
Next, stop at the celebrated Falaj Daris, one of the ancient water channels (falaj system) still in use today. A number of Oman’s falaj systems are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The journey then continues toward the breathtaking highlands of Jebel Akhdar, meaning "Green Mountain." Along the way, visit the oasis village of Birkat Al Mouz, known for its ancient ruins, falaj network, and the Bayt al Ridaydah Fort. From here, begin the scenic mountain ascent along winding roads to the cool, terraced peaks of Jebel Akhdar.
Check-in at your luxury mountain resort.
Overnight in the mountains – recommended hotels:
Alila Jabal Akhdar / Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar 5*.
Day 2
Day 2
Jebel Akhdar – Wahiba Sands Desert (HB / dinner)
In the morning, begin your exploration of the spectacular Jebel Akhdar mountain range and the Saiq Plateau. This unique highland region is home to traditional villages and terraced farms where locals continue to cultivate fruits, vegetables, and the famous Damask roses used to produce rose water. Visit the picturesque Diana’s Point, named after Princess Diana who once admired these very views, and stroll through the serene oasis of Wadi Bani Habib, a hidden valley dotted with abandoned villages and lush gardens.
Afterwards, descend from the mountains and continue your journey into the vast Wahiba Sands Desert, renowned for its strikingly varied sand hues — from deep black to golden honey and even ivory-white, shifting subtly across the dunes as far as the eye can see.
Upon arrival, check in at your luxury desert camp. In the evening, unwind by the campfire beneath a star-filled sky and immerse yourself in the peaceful stillness of the desert.
Overnight at a deluxe desert camp – recommended: Desert Nights Camp.
Day 3
Day 3
Wahiba Sands – Wadi Bani Khalid – Wadi Tiwi / Wadi Shab – Muscat
In the early morning, before breakfast, you’ll have the opportunity to climb a dune to watch the desert sunrise and enjoy a short camel ride around the camp area — a perfect farewell to the golden sands of Wahiba.
After breakfast, depart for Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman’s largest and most beautiful oases. Its turquoise pools framed by white limestone cliffs make it an inviting spot for a refreshing rest and exploration.
Continue toward the coastal city of Sur, renowned for its historic dhow shipyards. Enjoy a brief city tour and visit a traditional dhow factory, where the age-old craft of wooden boat-building is still alive.
From Sur, return to Muscat via the scenic coastal highway, which hugs the shimmering shoreline of the Gulf of Oman. En route, make photo stops at Wadi Tiwi and Wadi Shab — stunning mountain oases with emerald freshwater pools, lush vegetation, and dramatic rocky gorges.
Arrive in Muscat by evening.
Transfer to your hotel or directly to Muscat International Airport for your onward journey.
