Day 1
Muscat – Khasab, Khasab City Tour, Jebel Harim Jeep Safari (BB)
Transfer from the hotel in Muscat to the airport for the flight to Khasab.
Flight Muscat – Khasab. Arrival at Khasab Airport. At 11:00 AM, begin a sightseeing tour of Khasab, including a visit to Khasab Fort — built by the Portuguese in the 17th century to control the “maritime gateway” of the Strait of Hormuz. The fort was constructed using teakwood imported from India, and palm leaves were used to finish the ceilings. The central tower, however, predates the fort by a century.
Continue to Wadi Tawi, where you’ll find ancient petroglyphs depicting warriors, camels, ships, and other scenes from early life in the region. After the tour, check-in at the hotel (official check-in time is from 14:00).
In the afternoon, at 14:30, depart on a jeep safari into the mountains, ascending to the summit of Jebel Harim — the highest peak in Musandam, rising to 2,087 meters.
Along the way, pass remote mountain villages, dry riverbeds (wadis), and acacia trees. Make a stop at the picturesque Bedouin village of Sayah, considered one of the most beautiful in the area, surrounded by palm groves. After a brief photo stop, continue toward one of the peaks offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the dramatic rocky landscape. Proceed to a scenic viewpoint with sweeping views of the Indian Ocean, the “Fjords of Arabia,” the Strait of Hormuz, and even the distant Iranian coastline.
Conclude the day with a visit to Khalidiyah Park — a verdant area filled with acacia and jujube trees, a soft grassy carpet dotted with tiny flowers, and home to numerous bird species. Return to Khasab.
Overnight at Atana Khasab 4* Hotel.
